  1. Improving the waterjet and abrasive manufacturing technology of Hardox steel parts

Bridge Grant project-type, 95BG/2016, code PN-III-P2-2.1-BG-2016-0206, funded by UEFISCDI

Total value: 258625 RON

Period: October 2016 - March 2018

The main objective of the project was to elaborate a methodology for choosing the appropriate technological parameters, when processing Hardox steel sheet parts by waterjet and abrasive cutting, so that the obtained parts correspond in terms of geometric and dimensional accuracy, and the quality of the processed surface should be the imposed one. The project was carried out together with an economic agent, SC Euro Business SRL Brasov that uses the abrasive and waterjet cutting technology. Based on the method of experiment plans (DOE) an experimental research plan was elaborated that paid attention to the influence of important parameters: feeding rate, jet pressure, abrasive flow and the distance between the active head and the work surface. The results of the experimental research were mathematically processed, thus, obtaining mathematical models of the dependence of the analyzed parameters. These mathematical models were experimentally validated by the manufacture of some parts from the usual orders of the economic agent on their existing equipment.

  1. Research for the optimization of the organizational management system

Research contract type project with third parties.

Beneficiary: SC Mechrom Industry SRL

The main objective of the project was the design, development, implementation, optimization of the quality management system in accordance with the requirements of the referential specific to the vehicle component manufacturing industry. In this endeavour, organizational documentation was created and implemented in order to keep the processes of the organization under control. From among the activities that were included: identification of organizational processes, qualification of human resources, development of system and process documentation, specific training, implementation of quality instruments (SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, G8D). Similarly, the organization was assisted in the process of second and third party audits at the quality system level.

  1. Research on the innovative manufacturing of the parts for electric motors

Contract project with third parties

Beneficiary: SC Electroprecizia Electrical Motors SRL Săcele, Braşov

Period: 2013 - 2018

Innovative manufacturing technologies of parts for electric motors such as rotor and stator boards, in small series of approximately several hundred pieces have been designed and used. The innovative technology used was the waterjet and abrasive cutting of the parts in the package, by adapting a dedicated clamping system and specific working regimes to ensure obtaining the dimensional and quality parameters of the parts at reasonable costs.

  1. Sponsorship contract with Mitutoyo Romania SRL

Beneficiary: Transilvania University of Brasov

Value of the contract: 457201,59 lei

The purpose of the contract was to donate to Transilvania University of Brasov a series of measuring equipments that are the basis of different measurement technologies. These are intended to be representative for the manufacturer of measuring equipment Mitutoyo. Thus, a coordinate measuring machine, an optical measuring equipment, a vertical measuring column, a complete system for the acquisition, distribution and processing of the measurements, as well as many other measuring instruments (callipers, micrometers, comparator gauges, parallel plane track kit, auxiliary devices, etc.) were donated. The laboratory was thus fully equipped, being able to cover a number of fields of dimensional measurement for both commercial, research and teaching purposes. In addition to the specific equipment, tools and software products, the Mitutoyo organization also provided all the necessary furniture for the laboratory.

  1. Research on the additive manufacturing of Max L112 electric motor components.

Beneficiary: SC Electroprecizia Electrical Motors SRL Săcele

Value of the contract: 3300 lei

During the project, the possibility of manufacturing functional models of components of the Max L112 electric motor was successfully tested. They were manufactured by thermoplastic extrusion on Zortrax M200 Plus and BCN3D Sigma printers, made of PLA, various motor components: terminal box cover, terminal box, housing, fan shield, sole. Of course, after manufacture, the components were assembled.
