• Jean Monnet Center of Excellence: Challenges and Prospects of European Integration in South-Eastern Europe – A Jean Monnet Center of Excellence focused on studying the European integration process in South-Eastern Europe, with an interdisciplinary approach and an emphasis on the variables that influence the European trajectory of Balkan states.

• AR Media – A subproject dedicated to the development and testing of augmented reality tools applied to online social networks, analyzing their impact on users.

• University Support for Student Quality, Competitiveness, and Equity (SUCCES) – a project funded by the Ministry of Education and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development through the ROSE program, aimed at first-year undergraduate IF students at risk of dropping out. The project provided counseling, career guidance, remedial programs in core subjects, and study trips for a target group of 600 students.

• Initiative for the Promotion, Modernization, and Sustainable Development of the Natural Building Stone Industry in the Western Balkans (BKSTONE) – An Erasmus+ Project aimed at modernizing the building stone sector in the Western Balkans by strengthening collaboration between universities, vocational training institutions, and private companies, implemented in 2019–2022. The project was coordinated by Universiteti Politeknik i Tiranës – Albania. UTBV contributed to the development and implementation of the project’s Quality Plan.

• Intelligent Destination Management for Sustainable Tourism (DIMAST) – A project through which an innovative IT system (GDSS + GIS) was developed to test the 2013 ETIS indicators on sustainable tourism. The DIMAST web platform and mobile application facilitate collaborative decision-making among tourism stakeholders (HORECA, agencies, authorities, NGOs, and the academic environment).

• Transition Project – A research project in economics that mathematically models the imbalances of the transition to a market economy (rent-seeking, free riding, poverty, and inequality) and proposes tools and recommendations for economic policies in Romania in the context of European integration.

• ASPECKT Platform – An infrastructure project of UTBV through which an integrated research and applied development platform was established, intended for master’s and doctoral students as well as faculty in the economic field, for multidisciplinary research supported by modern IT&C.

• Entrepreneurship and Supply Chain Management – An educational project for developing entrepreneurial and logistics skills in over 80 participants. It includes theoretical courses at UNITBV, delivered by experts and the partner AILOG (Italy), complemented by practical internships in companies in Romania and Italy.

Research in Support of the Local Entrepreneurial Environment

• VISIONARY Study on Consumer Behavior in Agro-Food Markets in Brașov – Investigation of consumer preferences and habits in the agro-food markets of Brașov municipality (retailer-type platforms) and measurement of their perceptions regarding the differentiation of producers within these markets. The research, funded by Highclere Consulting through the European research and innovation project VISIONARY (https://highclere-consulting.com/ce-facem/heu-visionary/), includes surveys, focus group interviews with young people, and analyses using neuromarketing techniques.


• Applied Neuromarketing Study on the Luado Chocolate Brand – Investigation of how taste perception is influenced not only by direct sensory experience but also by consumers’ level of information about the product, its ingredients, and the manufacturing process. The research was dedicated to the local brand Luado Chocolate and included neuromarketing techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG) and biometric measurements to analyze consumer reactions during tasting.
