The priority areas of scientific research of “Emil Poenaru” Juridical Studies Centre are:
• Strategies for legal reform;
• National and international legal framework;
• The protection of the human rights at national and international level
The objectives of “Emil Poenaru” Juridical Studies Centre within the framework of the Department of Law are:
- development of high quality scientific research and exploitation and improvement of the visibility of the research excellence;
- increasing financial resources of academic research by raising the coefficient of success in accessing national and international funds, by encouraging and supporting academics in accessing these funds;
- promoting the inter and trans-disciplinary research, the frontier research drawing on the resources and skills of the other research centres.
The offer of “Emil Poenaru” Juridical Studies Centre is:
- Joining national and international groups from inside and outside the academia with an interest in law studies in different areas.
- Legal consultancy
- Hosting and organizing national or international conferences
- Publishing conference proceedings
- Editing and publishing collected papers series
- Organizing simulated trials involving legal practitioners and researchers
- Organizing workshops on current legal issues
- Research mentoring at undergraduate and graduate level
- Analysing and reviewing draft legislation/bills
- Analysing and reviewing laws in force in order to elaborate proposals to improve legislation
- Organizing workshops to debate national, ECHR’s or/and EUCJ’s jurisprudence
