Note. Dr. Anca Ilea (collaborating professor at the Faculty of Medicine, involved in teaching and research activities in the field of physiology, hematology, cytogenetics), as well as laboratory assistant Elena Pozna and students from the study programmes Clinical Laboratory (Adelina Jinga , Cristina Adochite, Sabina Hugeanu), Medicine (Walid Kansoun), currently in the training stage on related topics (without payment from the project funds) were actively involved.

Through this project, incorporated in the field of MEDICINE, the integration of master students in research teams for the evaluation by complex laboratory techniques (genetic and molecular biology) of some biological specimens (blood and bone marrow) from hematological patients with suspicions of chronic myeloproliferations , envisaged to demonstrate the importance of these tests in the precise diagnosis and especially in the differentiation from the reactive, non-ecological situations.

Genetic-clinical and molecular correlations in patients with Hereditary Telengiectasia - HH-BV

Project manager – Prof. Dr. Rogozea Liliana Marcela

Project duration: 5 months (1.07.2018-15.12.2018)

Budget used: 25906.4 lei

Project team:

  2. Master student Lavinia Dima - Master’s degree programme Management of Preventive Strategies and Health Policies - 1.07-30.09.2018

Note. Master student Lavinia Dima requested the departure from the project (medical reasons) and was replaced for the period 1.10-15.12.2018 with master student Ioana Maria Iosifescu (from the same master’s degree programme).

  1. Lecturer Dr. Daniela Neculoiu - Department for fundamental, prophylactic and clinical disciplines, Faculty of Medicine
  2. Dr. Mihaela Badea - Department for fundamental, prophylactic and clinical disciplines, Faculty of Medicine
  3. Dr. Marius Moga- Department for medical and surgical specialties, Faculty of Medicine

Note. Dr. Roxana Ola (visiting professor at UNITBV until April 2019) and Laboratory assistant Elena Pozna were actively involved, as well as students from the Clinical Laboratory study programmes (Adelina Jinga, Cristina Adochite, Sabina Hugeanu), Medicine (Walid Kansoun) , are currently in the training stage on related topics (without payment from the project funds).

The novelty of the project lies in the fact that a research study was conducted on patients with HHT in Romania for the first time. By identify these patients, the premises were created to establish a foundation or a centre for patients with HHT in our country as well. The results on animal models obtained in previous publications were validated in humans by staining with specific antibodies tissue samples obtained from patients with HHT in collaboration with Yale School of Medicine, USA (antibodies specific for CK2 isoform A2, Phospho-PTEN , Phospho-AKT, Phopsho-S6 and for KLF4).
