The Research Centre of Advanced Welding Eco-Technologies has as a main field of activity the research and development of innovative products and technologies in welding engineering. The processes of welding, cutting and reconditioning developed within the Centre target the energy and economic efficiency, by implementing cutting-edge ecological processing technologies.

In line with the global trend of raw-material recycling and saving, within the research centre, ecological technologies for the recovery of secondary raw materials from polymer waste are also developed. Complementarily, within the centre, polymetric organic materials, composites, as well as nanomaterials are obtained and characterised.

The purview of the research centre also includes the field of industrial security engineering, which ensures the development of manufacturing processes or work equipment with the lowest possible risks of injury or professional disease, for the staff conducting their work in there.
