For companies, the use of digital technologies represents the main channel for accomplishing digital transformation, which ensures not only the anchoring in the global digital economy, but also the entrance in a new era of organisational production, consumption and culture. Through digitalization, companies become more competitive, especially at international level, and they can significantly enhance profits in the medium and long term.
The main barrier for the companies in the process of digital transformation is the access to innovative and digital technologies. Generally, they represent the top technologies in any field internationally.
The Digital Hub DIH-Bv aims at overcoming this barrier and at supporting the local companies as regards the testing, experimentation and use of digital technologies within the Research Centres of the Research and Development Institute of the University. DIH-Bv is designed as a unique space which represents the interest of all the companies and institutions which are interested in accelerating the local digitalization process.
What are digital technologies?
Digital technologies represent information used or imparted by means of a computer, guided mainly towards the development of smart processes. Although the use of digital technologies in certain fields is just in its infancy in Romania, companies become more and more aware of the necessity to use them in the global market competition.
Where can digital technologies be experienced and used in Brașov?
The only space in the Centre Region which concentrates a great number of digital technologies available in the same place, as well as the corresponding knowledge and know-how for testing and using them is the Research and Development Institute within Transilvania University of Brașov - ICDT.
What are the digital technologies available at the Research and Development Institute – Transilvania University of Brașov?
The Research and Development Institute incoroprates 30 Research Centres in technical and socio-humanistic fields, equipped with state-of-the art technologies. Given their particular features, some of these Centres allow the use of digital technologies and the development of digital processes, products and services, with the contribution of researchers and academics, who represent the human resources of the institute.
