Transilvania University of Brașov continues the series UNITBV Conferences: Science in Conversation. The guest of the fourth edition is Răzvan Săftoiu, professor at the Faculty of Letters, who invites you to participate in a captivating debate on the topic “A Map of Romanian Humour. From Jokes to Memes”. Starting from a research project mapping the targets of humour in the public space, the meeting aims to explore how we joke and the reasons for doing it. From classic jokes about mothers-in-law to pandemic-generated memes, from jokes with Transylvanians and Moldovans to political humour in electoral campaigns, we will discuss how jokes reflect the Romanian society.

The event is addressed to everyone passionate about science, regardless of age, to pupils, students and professors, to professionals in various fields, to all Brașov community members willing to learn about the latest scientific results.

We will be waiting for you on 6 March 2025, at 5:00 p.m., in Studio 181 Hall (Rectorate building, 29 Eroilor Blvd.).
